Days after Joel Kinnaman confirmed he's going to star in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" as Rick Flag, rumors are abuzz that Joe Manganiello has been considered to act as Deathstroke. Cinema Blend broke the news that the "Magic Mike" star had been in talks to take over the role. While nothing is not yet official, a source close to the production claimed "it is an almost certainty that Manganiello has the role."

Should Manganiello's casting in the forthcoming movie be true, he will be joining the already on-board cast that consisted of Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. Either Manganiello or Warner Bros. Pictures is expected to address the rumors any time soon.

Based on the DC comic book, "Suicide Squad" tells the story of "the team of supervillains who are given a chance at redemption by the government. The catch: Their mission will probably kill them all."

Words are, they will face off against Onslaught and their leader, Antiphon. Latino Review's El Mayimbe posted on Instagram, "Onslaught are hunting super heroes & villains for their own agenda. They're like a special ops team made up of mercenaries. Antiphon is a burn victim & has a prosthetic leg. Ed Harris was rumored for the role."

Directed by David Ayer, the action film is slated to be released in U.S. theaters on August 5 next year.
