Representatives for Calvin Klein reportedly have informed the L.A. County Sheriff's Department that they will not take any further step in the case because the dress has already been returned.

The case in Lupita Nyong'o's stolen Oscars dress has been closed. Representatives for Calvin Klein reportedly have contacted the L.A. County Sheriff's Department earlier this week and informed them that they had no intention to pursue the case any further since the dress has been returned by the thief.
TMZ broke the news on the closing case of the stolen dress. However, reason on why the fashion designer decided to not pursue the case remains unknown. At the time of writing, there hasn't been any single comment made by either Calvin Klein or the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.
Lupita Nyong'o wore a Calvin Klein's designed dress to the Oscars last month. The dress reportedly was adorned with 6,000 Akoya pearls and worth $150,000. The gown was stolen from the actress' room at London West Hollywood hotel on February 25. Two days later the thief decided to return the dress to the hotel in a garment bag after finding out that the pearls were fake.
"I'm happy that it has been potentially recovered. It is a timeless and priceless piece of art," Lupita said of the recovered dress. The CK creative director Francisco Costa who designed the dress commented, "All of us at Calvin Klein are thrilled to know that the dress has potentially been located. This was an amazing collaboration between the brand and Lupita and the dress looked truly exquisite on her. Once it's returned to us, we will be able to have the dress restored and archived, as it now represents an important moment for the brand."
