Sarah Michelle Gellar is joining "Star Wars Rebels". The actress has been added to the voice of the Disney XD animated series for the upcoming season 2. Details of the character that she will be voicing, however, are still kept under wraps.

"We're thrilled to have Sarah Michelle Gellar on board for season two. She is a true 'Star Wars Rebels' fan and her passion undoubtedly comes through in the voice-recording sessions," says executive producer/supervising director Dave Filoni when announcing the news.

Gellar joins the voice cast that already includes her husband Freddie Prinze Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar, Taylor Gray and David Oyelowo.

The animated series takes place between "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith" and "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope". The second season, which is expected to debut later this year, will feature Darth Vader and Ahsoka Tano.

Gellar has previously lent her voice to characters on TV series like "Robot Chicken", "American Dad!" and "The Simpsons" as well as movie such as "Freedom Force" and "Happily N'Ever After". Her last regular TV gig is "The Crazy Ones" on which she starred opposite the late Robin Williams.
