The super group, which also consists of Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris and Julia Haltigan, releases their first single 'Candy' that's produced by TV on Radio's Dave Sitek.

AceShowbiz - Scarlett Johansson has returned to music and she is going "super-pop" with her new band. The actress/singer is now the frontwoman of an all-girl group called The Singles featuring Holly Miranda, Kendra Morris and Julia Haltigan. She's also hired Este Haim of HAIM to play the drums.

"The idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls," Johansson explained her band in a press release. She cited Grimes, The Bangles and The Go-Go's as major influences, saying, "I wanted it to be like those bands: ultra pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke."

As a preview of the ladies' music, Johansson and her pals have premiered their debut single. Called "Candy", the song was produced by TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, who previously worked with the "Lucy" actress on "Anywhere I Lay My Head", her 2008 Tom Waits cover album.
