Tapped as one of the performers at this year's Oscars, Adam Levine has told The Hollywood Reporter, "Performing at the Oscars might be even better than being nominated!" Speaking of his scheduled performance, he furthermore stated, "It's such rarified air that we're gonna be in. As far as being a musician at that particular show. I've always been a huge fan of the Oscars and the way they put it all together. It's the godfather of all awards shows. It's just so far removed from what I do."

Levine is slated to perform the hit song "Lost Stars" at the upcoming awards show. The song was featured in the 2014 musical romantic comedy drama "Begin Again", which he also starred in, and was nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar.

"It happened to me for a song that I sang in a movie that I was in, which makes it that much more special. That's rarely the case. Usually there's some sort of separation. It feels more legitimate and pure and involved in being there," the Maroon 5 frontman gushed to The Hollywood Reporter. The 35-year-old singer then opened up about making his acting debut in "Begin Again". "If I only make one movie in my whole life, it seems like this one makes the most sense. I don't know where it will go from here, but that was my part. I really, truly believe that, and I'm really happy it came my way," so he said.

In addition to Levine, the upcoming 87th Oscars will have the likes of Jack Black, Lady GaGa, Jennifer Hudson, and Anna Kendrick among the many other performers. The awards show is scheduled to take place this coming Sunday, February 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
