The upcoming Academy Awards would have twin sisters Tegan and Sara taking the stage. The duo has been added to the long list of tapped performers and is slated to sing hit song "Everything Is Awesome", which is featured in "The Lego Movie".
Tegan and Sara would be joined for the scheduled performance by the comedy-music trio The Lonely Island. "MOST AWESOME? @TheAcademy has invited us to perform #EVERYTHINGISAWESOME with @thelonelyisland at the #OSCARS!!!" so they confirmed through Twitter.
Oscars' producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, moreover, added, "Tegan and Sara and Lonely Island?"..Everything Is Awesome, indeed. This is certainly an 'Only on the Oscars' moment." In related news, "Everything Is Awesome" is up for the Best Original Song Oscar.
The 87th annual Academy Awards will be held Sunday, February 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles beginning at 5:30 P.M. PST (8:30 P.M. EST/01:30 UTC). Neil Patrick Harris is on board hosting the annual Oscars.
