Ryan Adams took the stage on "The Late Late Show" Friday night, January 23 after news broke out that he split from wife Mandy Moore. He performed "Gimme Something Good", an emotional song from his 2014 eponymous album.
"I can't talk/ My mind is so blank/ So I'm going for a walk/ I've got nothing left," the indie rocker crooned. "All my life been shaking/ Wanting something/ Holding everything I have like it was broken/ Gimme something good."
Jeff Goldblum also came to visit the show, while Judd Apatow served as a guest-host. He was one of the stars filling in the vacant spot left by the departed host Craig Ferguson before the new host James Corden comes in later this year.
Ryan, 40, and Mandy, 30, tied the knot in 2009 after a year of dating. They cited irreconcilable differences as the reason of their separation. "Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years," they said in a joint statement. "It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time."
