Derulo shows on Instagram a receipt of the car purchase after his former girlfriend claimed the vehicle he gave her was not bought, but leashed.

It seems a bad blood is brewing between Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks who split in 2014. The former came to his own defense after his ex-girlfriend said in a radio interview that he gave her a rented car for her birthday.
Derulo quickly posted on Instagram a picture of the car receipt which showed that he purchased it for $75,000. "Women Lie, Men Lie, Numbers Don't Lie! #WhyLease," he captioned the picture.
Sparks previously said in an interview on Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club" that after their split, she got rid of the car Derulo gave her because keeping it "would be like dirty money." "If he wanted it, he could have it," the "American Idol" alum said.
"I dropped it off at the BMW dealership and said, 'You can deal with it'," she dished on. According to her, she found out from the dealership that the gift wasn't bought, but leased. "I was under the impression that it was purchased," she said.
Sparks also opened up, "I haven't spoken to him since everything went down. [After we last talked] he helped me with my bag to the car, he kissed me, he told me he loved me...then didn't call! I'm like, 'We need to talk about this and move past it.' He wasn't responding and I was like, 'Okay,' so then, I just stopped and I was like, 'You need to come get your s**t.' So he got all of his stuff out of my house."
