The former Governor of Alaska takes the heat online, being accused of animal cruelty for letting her son Trig stepping on their dog.

AceShowbiz - It's only the beginning of 2015, but already Sarah Palin created controversy online. The former Governor of Alaska received mixed responses after posting on Facebook pictures of her son Trig, who has Down Syndrome, using their dog as a stepping tool to reach the sink.
"Happy New Year!" she wrote. "May 2015 see every stumbling block turned into a stepping stone on the path forward. Trig just reminded me. He, determined to help wash dishes with an oblivious mama not acknowledging his signs for 'up!', found me and a lazy dog blocking his way. He made his stepping stone."
Some accuse Palin of animal cruelty and slam her for failing to teach her child how to respect and properly care for their pet. However, many others come to her defense insisting that the dog didn't seem to be in pain. The former politician herself hasn't commented on the backlash.
