Some fans were left unimpressed by Idina Menzel's performance at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. The Broadway star was criticized as she appeared to have some difficulties singing her iconic single "Let It Go" at the Wednesday night, December 31 event, probably due to the cold weather.
Menzel took the outdoor stage in New York's Times Square in a black jacket, a sequin top and leather pants during the performance. She flawlessly belted out the "Frozen (2013)" track until she sang the last line of the song, when she failed to hit the highest note.
Seemingly responding to the criticism, Menzel shared on Twitter on Thursday an excerpt of her interview a few months ago. "There are about 3 million notes in a two-and-a-half-hour musical; being a perfectionist, it took me a long time to realize that if I'm hitting 75 percent of them, I'm succeeding," she said as she tried to define success.
