Lee Daniels is trying his hand at supernatural/thriller genre after coming off awards fare such as "Precious: Based on the Novel PUSH by Sapphire" and "Lee Daniels' The Butler". Deadline reports the director is set to helm a movie called "Demon House" based on the real-life experience of Latoya Ammons and her family who claimed to be the victims of a demonic possession.

The experience began with unusual occurrences in the Ammons home over two years ago, including swarms of flies around her porch in the winter and unexplainable creaking sounds in her basement. The events progressed to possessive incidents including her oldest daughter unconsciously levitating above her bed, medical staff witnessing her middle son gliding backward on the floor, wall and ceiling.

The Department of Child Services, the Police Department and the hospital staff investigated into the case, and what they found out further supported the family's claims. One report said health workers witnessed a child being lifted into the air and thrown against a wall.

Daniels is also working on a Richard Pryor biopic starring Mike Epps.
