Aaron Sorkin has another big project on his plate. Deadline learns that the Oscar-winning screenwriter is tapped to write a screenplay for a big-screen adaptation of "Molly's Game". It depicts Molly Bloom's high-stakes adventure in the world of underground poker game.
Molly Bloom is a real-life world-class skier who, after failing to make the Olympic skiing team, took a break from college and worked in Los Angeles. Through a bizarre set of circumstances, she ended up running the most exclusive high-stakes poker game in the world for eight years before FBI got her.
Sorkin is expected to tackle more big-screen projects as he recently hinted at his departure from TV after the last season of "The Newsroom". His movie credits include "The Social Network" and "Moneyball". He also adapted Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs biography for a movie with Danny Boyle at the helm and Michael Fassbender possibly on the lead role.
