Margot Robbie is playing Harley Quinn in "Suicide Squad", according to a scoop from Collider. Some sources say the star of "The Wolf of Wall Street" is going to play The Joker's girlfriend in the upcoming movie to be directed by David Ayer.
Quinn was introduced for the first time on "Batman: The Animated Series". She is actually a psychiatrist named Dr. Harleen Quinzel who is interested in The Joker and becomes his lover.
The Australian actress' name has been mentioned in the possible cast list alongside Will Smith and Tom Hardy. Model/actress Cara Delevingne reportedly is also eyed to play a female villain role in the movie. Most recently, Jared Leto reportedly was in negotiations to play The Joker in the Warner Bros. adaptation of DC antihero comics.
Robbie, who played Naomi Lapaglia in "Wolf of Wall Street", has already booked some projects. She is playing Jane in 2016's "Tarzan", stars in "Focus" alongside Will Smith and sci-fi flick "Z for Zachariah" with Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
