The 'View' co-host is drawing criticism online after calling Chrissy's statement regarding a fatal shooting incident in Ottawa 'brilliant and on-point.'

AceShowbiz - Rosie O'Donnell receives some major backlashes after defending Chrissy Teigen's tweet about a fatal shooting incident in Ottawa, Canada. Rosie discussed the attack on "The View" on Thursday morning, October 23.

The 52-year-old comedian said of Chrissy's statement, "I thought it was brilliant and on-point, but some people thought it was insensitive." ABC News anchor Amy Robach, who was on the panel, responded, "Timing is everything. And I think when you tweet something like that in the middle of an active shooting, people are afraid, people are running for their lives and a man is dead."

Co-host Nicolle Wallace then challenged Rosie, saying, "I know it's important to you that mental health is always raised as a possible, unaddressed cause. It's also possible that he was an evil terrorist, OK? So I don't want that to get lost. The Canadian government has classified this as a terrorist attack. The definition of terrorism is arbitrary violence and death rendered on innocent people who are just doing their jobs."

Rosie responded to Nicolle by bringing up fact that "86 people a day are killed in America with guns." She then defended Chrissy, saying, "I think she's saying: I'm an American, I live here. I see two people shot this week in Canada and the entire country of Canada is in mourning. However, in America this happens on a daily day basis and we don't even pay attention anymore."

Because of her remarks, Rosie has been receiving backlash on Twitter. A user named Kylie Briggs wrote, "What Rosie said on the view today about Canada was not okay. Terrorists are terrorists and it's not just a typical shooting." Meanwhile, Angela Woodward tweeted, "I don't think someone attacks your president everyday Rosie O'Donnell. I've changed the channel today."

Chrissy has found herself in hot water after sharing her thoughts on Ottawa shooting incident. She tweeted on Wednesday, "Active shooting in Canada, or as we call it in America, Wednesday."

After some people deemed her statement insensitive, Chrissy attempted to clarify her stance, posting, "That's not a joke. It is a fact. Sorry you don't understand that is a knock at America and our issues with gun control. No one is minimizing the Ottawa shooting. I'm not apologizing. If you take it wrong, that is your fault."

John Legend's wife apparently decided to quit Twitter on Thursday after receiving death threats. She wrote, "I feel sick. Bye Twitter. Taking my talents to instagram." Her last tweet came after she retweeted a death threat which read, "@fvvvvvvvvvvvvck I hope someone murders some you love, like your f****t husband."
