Margot Robbie is eying a transition to comedic role. The "The Wolf of Wall Street" star reportedly is in talks to join Tina Fey in Paramount's adaptation of the wartime memoir "The Taliban Shuffle".
Coming from journalist Kim Baker, "The Taliban Shuffle" is a 2011 black comedy book about her experiences reporting in Pakistan and Afghanistan after arriving in the regions in 2002. Fey confirmed earlier this year that her production company Little Stranger was developing the movie based on the memoir with Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video banner.
If Robbie indeed gets the part, she will reunite with directing duo Glenn Ficarra and John Requa who helmed her February 2015 thriller "Focus". Her role, according to THR, is a blond, gorgeous and hard-core on-air news anchor who befriends Baker (Fey) in Afghanistan. She is described as "very competitive and willing to do anything, including put her and others in danger, to get a story to launch her reporting career."
The problem is, Robbie is also in talks to star in Warner Bros.' "Suicide Squad". David Ayer, who is attached as the supervillains movie's director, is writing the script and plans to shoot in spring 2015. It leaves little room for Robbie who also has to promote "Focus" this spring.
