Not every Grammy-winning musician can make lots of money singing on the streets. No one recognized Erykah Badu's powerful vocals when she recently decided to go to Times Square and see how much money she could make performing there.

On Wednesday, October 15, OkayPlayer shared an amusing video of the R&B singer visiting the famous spot in Manhattan, N.Y. In the clip, she tries to go unnoticed, but she halts her introductory monologue after a random person asks her to pose for a photo. She then takes off her hat "so that people won't know who I am."

Badu is later seen standing in the middle of Times Square and spending some minutes singing about needing money. "Please sir, give me some money," she sings at one point.

Numerous people just walk past her without realizing who she is. However, she manages to make $3.6 in the end.
