Josh Brolin's brother apparently is homeless and even forced to dig bins for food, a new report suggests. According to U.K.'s Daily Mirror, Jess Brolin, the son of James Brolin and stepson of Barbra Streisand, was evicted from his apartment in May 2011 after he ran out of money from his trust fund. Since then, he reportedly lives on the streets in Ojai, California.

"He will sometimes be sleeping in a field behind shops, basically wherever he can bed down. It can be very cold at night as it's in the valley. Looking at him, you wouldn't realize he is part of one of the biggest, most successful showbiz families in the world. It is a heartbreaking situation," a source claimed.

A spokesperson for the Brolin family has responded to the story. "We have offered help and support and we continue to do so. We love him very much and only want what is best for him," the spokesperson said.

A spokesperson for the "Oldboy" actor additionally called the story "erroneous," adding that Jess is "gainfully employed and supports himself." She said that Jess had financial difficulties three years ago, but his family and friends would be there for him if he was "in need of support or any assistance."
