AceShowbiz - John Luke Robertson, the grandson of Phil Robertson, is engaged to his girlfriend Mary Kate McEacharn. The "Duck Dynasty" star proposed to Mary on his 19th birthday on Saturday, October 11.
John said in a statement to E! Online on Sunday, "I am so excited to marry my best friend. I know my parents married young as well, and they have always been examples of what 'could be' to me. Fast-forward 22 years and they are more in love than ever, and I hope Mary Kate and I are the same way in the years to come. God has truly blessed us."
The eldest son of Willie Robertson and Korie Robertson shared on Instagram a photo of him and his now-fiancee along with the caption, "She. Said. Yes. @missmarymcmcmc." In the photo, John could be seen holding a sign with a message which read, "Future Mrs. Robertson," with an arrow pointing at Mary as she flashed her engagement ring.
Mary posted a black-and-white version of the photo, captioned it with, "Happy Birthday to the boy I'm going to marry."
John's sister, Rebecca Robertson, shared a photo of her and the newly engaged couple at the birthday party. She wrote alongside the photo, "She said YES @missmarymcmcmc so excited to be your sister."
Willie tweeted, "19 years ago I welcomed my first son @John316Luke923 into the world! Happy Birthday big boy. The worlds a better place with u in it." Meanwhile, Korie confirmed the engagement news by posting a photo of her son and his fiancee along with the caption, "Yes, it's true @John316Luke923 proposed to this beauty @MaryKateMcE last night! We couldn't be more excited!! #love."
