There won't be Stephen Collins in "Ted 2". The actor has reportedly been fired from the comedy film after his sexual scandal is opened to public.
Collins, best known as a minister and father on TV series "7th Heaven", had a small role in the "Ted" sequel. However, it looks like his part will be eliminated from the final cut following the emergence of an audio recording in which the actor admitted to sexually abusing underage girls.
Filming of "Ted 2" has begun last month in Boston, Massachusetts with many of the original cast on board. Seth MacFarlane returns as the voice of the foul-mouther teddy bear and Mark Wahlberg as his human best-friend. Amanda Seyfried replaces Mila Kunis as the female lead, while Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson and John Slattery are slated to make cameo. The pic hits theaters June 26, 2015.
It is yet known whether Collins has shot his scenes but filmmakers confirmed that his role was "small enough to remove without any major disruption or rewrites of the project." Collins' involvement in the movie was never formally announced but the actor previously hinted on Twitter, saying, "I'd tell you but @SethMacFarlane would have to kill me," when someone asked about his role in the movie.
NY Police are still investigating Collins' case. The audiotape was allegedly made during a therapy session in 2012 when he detailed his acts to his estranged wife Faye Grant. The revelation also forced him to resign from his position in Screen Actors Guild's National Board on Tuesday, October 7.
