'Vacation' Moves Release Date, Is Up Against Disney's 'The Jungle Book'
Movie

The reboot of '80s comedy 'National Lampoon's Vacation' will come a month earlier in October 2015.

AceShowbiz - "National Lampoon's Vacation" reboot is coming sooner than expected now that most of the lead parts have been filled. Warner Bros. and New Line announced that the film had been moved up nearly a month from November 13, 2015 to October 9, 2015.

At the same time, "Vacation" is made the official title of the previously untitled project. On the new date, "Vacation" is up against Relativity's thriller "Kidnap", which is starring Halle Berry, and Disney's live-action version of "The Jungle Book", to be directed by Jon Favreau.

Ed Helms is already cast in "Vacation" as now-grown Rusty Griswold, who takes his family on a trip similar to the one he took with his parents and sister when he was young. Christina Applegate plays his wife, Leslie Mann plays his sister Audrey while Chris Hemsworth is Audrey's husband. Charlie Day rounds out the cast as river-rafting guide. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, the parents in the original film, are expected to make cameo.

Filming began in Atlanta last month with scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein making their directorial debut.
