Fame has affected 5 Seconds of Summer's Michael Clifford health. The guitarist of the Australian pop/punk band revealed in a new interview with Billboard that he had lost some hearing at the age of 18 because of the noise made by fans at their shows.

"I went to a hearing check-up, and I've actually lost high-pitched... noises in my right ear," the red-haired musician said at the backstage of the iHeartRadio Fest over the weekend. "I think they've lowered or something."

"That's the effect [fans' screaming] has," Clifford's bandmate, drummer Ashton Irwin, added.

It turns out that Clifford isn't the only 5SOS member whose hearing got damaged because of the screaming fans. In the same interview, the group's vocalist Calum Hood also revealed he's suffering from the same problem.

5 Seconds of Summer is currently serving as a supporting act at the shows on One Direction's tour which is scheduled to be wrapped up earlier next month. The boys plan to embark on their own headlining tour in 2015.
