"Magic Mike XXL" casting continues to roll with Amber Heard being the latest to join. The 28-year-old actress is hired as one of the female leads but her role is yet known.
It was recently revealed that Andie MacDowell and Jada Pinkett Smith are also on board the "Magic Mike" sequel. While MacDowell's role is also unknown, Smith reportedly will play the owner of a strip club, a role that originally was to be played by a guy.
"Magic Mike XXL" has begun filming but plot remains under wrap. "It's a road trip movie, and put it this way: It's different enough that once you see it you'll understand why we made a sequel," director Gregory Jacobs said. "No one will be accusing us of making the same movie twice."
While most of the original stars such as Channing Tatum and Matthew Bomer will return, Matthew McConaughey decided to skip this one. "Magic Mike XXL" is set to be released July 1, 2015 in the States.
