Lifetime has announced a premiere date for "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B" and released new sneak peeks at the biopic. The TV movie will air Saturday, November 15 at 8 P.M. ET/PT. Wendy Williams who serves as an executive producer in the TV movie also took to Twitter to spread the news, posting along with it a picture of Alexandra Shipp's Aaliyah in recording booth.

Two more official photos from the biopic have landed online. One sees Shipp channeling the late singer in a black crop top with matching pants and boots. The other image features her in a white ensemble sitting next to a male co-star.

Based on the book "Aaliyah: More Than a Woman" by Christopher Farley, the biopic follows the "Try Again" hitmaker's inspirational journey, from her debut on "Star Search" at the age of ten to the challenges she faced during her rise to become the Princess of R&B. The cast also includes Rachael Crawford and Sterling Jarvis as Aaliyah's parents Diane and Mike Haughton, Chattrisse Dolabaille as Missy Elliott, and Izaak Smith as Timbaland.

Bradley Walsh ("Turn the Beat Around") directed it with a script written by Michael Elliot ("Brown Sugar"). Howard Braunstein and Debra Martin Chase also serve as executive producers.
