Sherri Shepherd talked about her custody battle with her former husband, Lamar Sally, in an interview with Wendy Williams on "The Wendy Williams Show" on Wednesday, September 17. Sherri said, "We can't say anything about that. I have a lot of lawyers and I'm in court right now and it's very public and it's very painful."

Sherri told the audience that she couldn't talk about her surrogate situation. "You know for me, I'm not Tori and Dean," the "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son" actress said, "I don't get paid to talk about my life, so when people Tweet me I always say, 'Go to Wendy, she knows what's going on. You can ask Wendy about my life.' "

The couple, who has filed for divorce in May, is currently fighting over custody battle over their son, Lamar Sally Jr., who was reportedly born on August 5 in Pennsylvania via a surrogate mother.

Lamar recently told PEOPLE that he and Sherri agreed to have a child via surrogate, using his sperm and a donor's egg. He said, "[Sherri] said, 'I will love the baby like it's mine.' She never said she didn't want the baby."

Lamar said he's asking for Sherri to be named as the baby's mother on the birth certificates. "I think it's the worst thing in the world for L.J. to look at his birth certificate at 16 and see it says, 'Mother unknown,' " he shared.

Sherri and Lamar are due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on October 2 in Pennsylvania.
