Robert Downey Jr. ditches his Iron Man armor to tackle a more serious role in father-son drama "The Judge". A new trailer for the movie has now landed online, giving a glimpse at the actor's portrayal of a brilliant, unscrupulous Chicago lawyer which has generated Oscar talks.

While the previous trailer shows the witty side of Downey Jr.'s character Hank Palmer, the new one is more straightforward and focusing on a personal case he handles that forces him to face his daddy issue. There's also a reunion with an ex, played by Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress Vera Farmiga.

Directed by David Dobkin with the script written by Nick Schenk and Bill Dubuque, "The Judge" opens with the death of Hank's mother which brings him back to his hated but quaint Indiana hometown. When his estranged dad, the town's judge (Robert Duvall), is accused of a murder, the big city lawyer sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.

Supporting the drama movie are Billy Bob Thornton as Hank's adversary in court, Vincent D'Onofrio as Hank's older brother, Dax Shepard, Leighton Meester, Jeremy Strong and many others. The film is set to hit theaters nationwide on October 10 after premiered at Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.
