FOX isn't ready to make a long-term commitment with Tina Fey. The network has passed on "Cabot College" which was set to be executive produced by Fey, "30 Rock" co-executive producer Matt Hubbard and another co-showrunner Robert Carlock.

The collegiate comedy was supposed to revolve around a women's college that has just opened its doors to men for the first time. It landed on FOX in August last year with a six-episode series commitment, but the network never gave a greenlight for the production after the pilot was shot last spring.

Asif Ali, Margaret Cho, Jack Cutmore-Scott and Bonnie Dennison starred in the pilot. It's unclear if Universal Television will shop the comedy to other networks.

Fey also teams up with Robert Carlock for "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt", a new female-centered workplace comedy from "30 Rock" writer Colleen McGuinness, which has landed on NBC. Said to be in the vein of "Cheers", it centers on a young woman in search of reconnecting with her father who finds a new home and family on Fire Island. The show stars "The Office" alumna Ellie Kemper and is slated to premiere in midseason.
