In her acceptance speech, Gomez also tells audience to show their love to their mothers, saying, 'I want all of you to love your mom, and give her everything, because she's incredible.'

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez mentioned her mother when making a speech at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. The "Come & Get It" hitmaker also seemingly addressed her private life when taking the stage at the awards event at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles after receiving Ultimate Choice Award.

"I have to be honest, especially this month, I cannot thank you guys [enough] because you remind me, amidst all the stuff that we deal with personally, you remind me of what's important, and that's giving and loving and caring about each other and I'm not trying to preach or any of that it's that you guys make me better," she said. Gomez also told the audience, "I want to thank my mom so much. ... I want all of you to love your mom, and give her everything, because she's incredible."

Ansel Elgort, meanwhile, dedicated his award to cancer patients in his acceptance speech. The actor, who was awarded with a surfboard for Choice Movie Actor for his performance in "The Fault in Our Stars", thanked everyone before adding, "We didn't want to make a movie about sickness and cancer because this is really a movie about love."

"I really am glad that we were embraced by young people who were dealing with the illness and I just hope that we did it justice and my heart goes to everyone who's dealing with it, because cancer sucks. I dedicate this award to them," he continued.

His co-star Shailene Woodley also talked about people who are dealing with their illness in her speech for Best Drama. "I'm wearing heels and have a face full of makeup on and we're all so lucky to be here, breathing. There are a lot of people at home right now breathing into oxygen machines. There's no way to justify this. Life is unfair. All we have [are] moments and it's really our job to wake up each day and be so grateful for those moments," she said.
