FXX has debuted a funny promo for "The Simpsons" long marathon scheduled for August. In the video, things go out of control as people abandon their routines to watch the popular animated series.

The longest-running marathon in television history is set to begin Thursday, August 21 for 24 hours a day, for 12 straight days on FXX. All 552 episodes of the show will air in a row before the season 26 premiere Sunday, September 28 at 9/8c on FOX.

The new season opener will feature the death of a character. While the character is yet to be revealed, executive producer Al Jean said the actor who voiced this character had won an Emmy for the performance on the show and the character had appeared in more than two episodes.
