Lindsay Lohan to Make West End Debut in Play 'Speed-the-Plow'
Movie

In the upcoming London stage production, LiLo will portray a character who was played by Madonna in the original play.

Lindsay Lohan is cast in a London stage production "Speed-the-Plow" which satirizes Hollywood film industry. The revival of David Mamet's play that will run from September 24 to November 29 at Playhouse Theatre marks the American songstress' debut on West End.

When a hugely bankable star agrees to appear in a sure-fire commercial hit, film producers Bobby Gould and Charlie Fox are convinced this is the break of a lifetime. That is until Karen (played by Lindsay Lohan), a temporary secretary, derails the dream. When she persuades Bobby to dump the blockbuster in favour of a story which can only be described as box-office poison, Charlie is forced to resort to desperate measures...

Karen was played by Madonna in the original production in the late 1980s. The character was later played by Alicia Silverstone in a 2006 revival and Elisabeth Moss in 2008.

LiLo last starred on the big screen in erotic drama thriller "The Canyons". Of her stage debut, the West-End first-timer recently told New York Times, "It's the first time I've done a stage play or anything like that. I'm nervous but I'm excited."
