Celebrity

The selfie, which features A-list stars such as Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep and Brad Pitt among others, breaks Twitter for some users.

Ellen DeGeneres's Twitter post has just set the record for most retweeted photo. A selfie she shared from the 2014 Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 2 which features stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Kevin Spacey and Brad Pitt among others has received more than 1 million retweets in less than 1 hour. "If only Bradley's arm was longer," she captioned the star-studded photo.

With that number, the tweet has become the most retweeted post of all time, defeating previous record which was hold by President Barack Obama's account. The sweet photo of him hugging Michelle Obama from his re-election in 2012 received more than 700,000 retweets back then. "We had a good run, little tweet. We had a good run," Laura Olin, who was part of the Obama social media team, tweeted after the record was broken.

DeGeneres' post apparently crashed Twitter due to the high traffic. The official account of The Academy apologized twice for the problem, writing, "Sorry, our bad."

In addition to the record-breaking post, DeGeneres shared other photos of her with Channing Tatum and Liza Minnelli. "Look who I just found backstage," she captioned the photo with the "Magic Mike" star, while a photo with Minnelli was labeled "besties."
