One of The Wanted's members is stepping out of the single lane to lead a married life. Siva Kaneswaran has announced that he has proposed to longtime girlfriend, shoe designer Nareesha McCaffrey, after six years of dating.

Telling Hello! magazine of the romantic proposal, Kaneswaran said he had bought the ring for quite sometime before seeing an opportunity during a surprise party for him. He found out that his girlfriend had arranged a family birthday party for him and he surprised her by turning it to an engagement party for her.

"I said to her I wanted a present I would always remember this year by ...for you to be my wife," Kaneswaran recalled the proposal. "It was like a military operation to plan the proposal. I couldn’t even tell the other boys in the band in case they blew the surprise." He got down to one knee with a three carat diamond solitaire ring that he specially designed himself.

McCaffrey playfully said no to the proposal before giving him a yes. "I'm still in shock," she said. "I don't like surprises and he really surprised me, but I was so happy. I can't wait to start planning the wedding." Kaneswaran added, "I love her, I love every bit of her."

Meanwhile, Kaneswaran's The Wanted mate Tom Parker tweeted, "Just got to say I'm totally over the moon for @SivaTheWanted and @Nare_esha. I'm expecting a position as [bridesmaid]."
