Lady GaGa showed off her nerdy side on the red carpet of 2013 YouTube Music Awards Sunday, November 3 in New York City. Rocking a rotten-looking teeth grillz, she wore a black leather button-up sans pants, and finished it off with a hat, vintage glasses and sky-high platform boots.

The Mother Monster was nominated in multiple categories and expected to make a live performance. "Tune in now to the YouTube Music Awards! Performing DOPE for the first time," she wrote on Twitter. "DOPE will be available on iTunes at 12:01am local time around the world TONIGHT!"

Vanessa Hudgens was also spotted coming to the event, donning a yellow printed floor-length gown. The former "High School Musical" star was there with Michael Shannon to promote a Lena Dunham-written short film which they starred in.

The "Girls" actress herself was a no-show at the event, but she hyped it up on Twitter. "Kindly stream the YouTube Music Awards at 6pm EST tomorrow! I wrote a live short film starring @VanessaHudgens & @DocZodMichael. #ytma," she posted.

Dunham also live-tweeted the show. She wrote in one post, "Holy S are you watching the YouTube Music Awards live? The Arcade Fire opener with Greta was mindblowing!!!" and added in another, "Michael & Dree & Nick & @VanessaHudgens killed it! Spike & Chris directed fiendishly. Squealing from bed! #ytma."

Other guests at the prize-giving event over the weekend included Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and M.I.A. The likes of Eminem, Tyler, the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt and Avicii were lined up as performers as well.
