A new trailer for "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" starring and directed by Ben Stiller has just arrived. While the previous trailer focuses more on the title characater's humdrum life and his escape to the fantasy worlds, this new one provides a longer sneak peek at his real-life adventure including his scary encounter with big fish that may or may not be a shark.

Stiller plays the lead role as an office worker who lives a boring life in New York, where he has no courage to talk to his crush (Kristen Wiig) and often gets harassed by his co-workers due to his habit of zoning out. So as an escape, he disappears into a world of fantasies filled with romance and action, where he so gallantly saves his dream girl in numerous heroic scenarios.

But when their jobs are threatened, Mitty must take it upon himself to get out of his head and face the real world. Now less of a hapless daydreamer and more of a man, he jumps into a helicopter, dives in to the sea, treks in an icy land, and embarks on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.

The movie will be released this coming Christmas, with Adam Scott, Sean Penn, Patton Oswalt and Shirley Maclaine in supporting roles. It's the second adaptation of James Thurber's 1939 short story of the same name, following a 1947 film starring Danny Kaye.

"We just wanted to honor the material and tell the story pretty simply. But I think there's a lot beneath the surface in the Walter character, like the idea of what people have underneath. That's something everybody in the cast related to," said Stiller at the New York Film Festival recently.
