The Toronto Blue Jays lead catcher proposes to the singer of The Band Perry under an oak tree in her parents' backyard in Greeneville, Tenn.

AceShowbiz - Kimberly Perry, who is a member of trio The Band Perry, is engaged to J.P. Arencibia. According to The Tennessean, the Toronto Blue Jays catcher proposed to his girlfriend on Monday night, September 30.
Perry's family home in Greeneville, Tenn. has a large oak tree in the backyard and Perry always hopes that "if I get proposed to in this life, I hope it happens underneath this tree." That night, Perry's family called her to come out and she found him under the tree. "I saw that and I thought, 'This is really happening,' " Perry said.
Perry found a letter from her family as she went back to the house to put on her favorite pink dress. "I got to read the letter and get dressed and put on my grandfather's bracelet. I came back out on the front porch and he was standing there and he got down on one knee. It was perfect," Perry recalled.
The singer and the athlete met for the first time in February of 2012 at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fla. Arencibia went to see Perry's performances with her band several times before seeing her backstage. They exchanged phone numbers and later started dating.
"I've never felt that with anyone before. He's just a really gentle soul. He balances me for sure," Perry gushed over her boyfriend. Her 3.3.-carat engagement ring was designed by a friend in Chicago. The couple planned to wed next summer.
