Tom kicks a police officer in the face after he is deemed too drunk to fly by a United Airlines employee.

AceShowbiz - Actor Tom Guiry, who played Scott "Scotty" Smalls in 1990s comedy movie "The Sandlot", reportedly has been released from custody after he kicked a police officer in the face. TMZ reported that the incident took place at the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston over the weekend.

At that time, a United Airlines employee reportedly told Tom that he was too drunk to fly and called the authorities. A police officer responded to the report and said that the actor might choose whether he wanted to be arrested for public intoxication or being held in a drunk tank until he sobered up.

The actor, however, reacted violently. He allegedly verbally abused and even threatened the officer. Tom was also said kicking the officer in the face in addition to hitting with his head. Consequently, Tom was booked for felony assault on a police officer. He was released after posting $5,000 bail.

"The Sandlot", which centered on nine children who loved playing baseball, was released in 1993. In an interview with Huffington Post Entertainment in April, Tom revealed that people called him Smalls "four or five times a day" when he was at work in a hospital. "It's pretty cool, I never thought that I would be promoting this movie 20 years later," he said, adding that his son's friends did not believe that he was a child actor.
