The creator and former showrunner of the NBC comedy series reportedly jokes during his Harmontown podcast that he will only return if former star Chevy Chase also returns.

AceShowbiz - Dan Harmon could pave his way back to rejoin "Community". Following his much-publicized departure from the sitcom, the creator and original showrunner of NBC's cult series has been asked back for the recently greenlit season 5.

Harmon spilled the beans during a taping of his Harmontown podcast on Sunday, May 26. Hollywookie.com reports that the TV writer asked that the news be edited out of the podcast, but then said, "Ah, f**k it. I don't care who knows!" He allegedly also joked that he would only return if Chevy Chase was also brought back.

It's unclear what role Harmon will have if he returns to the show. A spokesperson for Sony Pictures Television, which produces the series, tells The Hollywood Reporter there's nothing official to report at this time.

Harmon was having a verbal feud with former star Chase before his departure from the show in May 2012. He revealed he didn't quit the show but he was fired, insiting, "Just to make this clear, literally nobody called me." Chase himself later quit the series in the middle of season 4 production.
