The two ended an eight-year recording drought by signing up with Columbia Records. The musical acts reportedly featured in the much-awaited new project include producer Nile Rodgers, disco icon Giorgio Moroder and Chilly Gonzales.

Meanwhile, funky pair Macklemore & Ryan Lewis made their big "SNL" debut with a double dose of rap. Ben Haggerty, in his eye-catching red get-up, and his producer Lewis, in a less flamboyant suit, brought the house down with live performances of their chart-topper "Thrift Shop" (with guest vocalist Wanz) and "Can't Hold Us" (with guest vocalist Ray Dalton).
