After a series of speculations, it has now been confirmed that Jamie Foxx will be playing Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". Revealing what fans could expect from his character in the upcoming web-slinger film, the "Django Unchained" dishes out some spoilerish tidbits about Electro a.k.a Max Dillon's origin and what makes him a bad guy in the upcoming sequel.

"You'll see that in his whole life, no one is talking to him. People have stolen his ideas at the big company. He's a nobody," Foxx says of Electro's back story to MTV News. "At a certain point, Spider-Man bumps into him and says, 'You're my guy. You're my eyes and ears on the street.' And he says his name - no one has ever said Dillon's name."

Dillon's encounter with Spidey makes him "sort of starts thinking that somehow, he's Spider-Man's partner." Spilling the beans on what triggers Dillon in becoming a baddie, Foxx says that it begins when his own mom forgets his birthday and it leads to a series of "tragic" and "crazy" events that transform the introvert guy into an electrically-enhanced supervillain. "When it turns on, he lights it up," Foxx adds.

Not only does Foxx open up about the plot details, but he also dishes on what his Electro costume will look like in "The Amazing Spider-Man" sequel. Stating that his getup will ditch Electro's classic green-and-yellow outfit, the actor claims, "It won't be like that. Marc Webb and all of those guys, they're smart. They know that it has to make sense in 2013, so the suit is really slick. It's actually black. It's a new age."

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is due to open Stateside on May 2, 2014. Foxx will be joined by Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan and Martin Sheen.
