As celebrity contestants are pushed to their limits with the physically challenging games, they'll learn about true bravery and honoring veteran and law enforcement officers.

AceShowbiz - NBC lines up "Stars Earn Stripes", which is claimed to be unlike any other reality series, to debut later this summer and teases audience by giving a glimpse at the action-packed footage. Compiled in a newly-released promo, the scenes show eight celebrities taking part in military-style trainings that include challenges like swimming in the ocean and long-range target shooting.

As the contestants take part in missions that are faced by real American heroes, they'll learn about true bravery as well as honoring army veterans and law enforcement officers who have protected the country. "This new series pays tribute to members of our dedicated armed forces and civil law enforcement," said co-host Gen. Wesley Clark back in June.

In fact, the grand prize won by one of the eight stars will be "donated to first-responder charity and veterans groups." Clark added, "I know that the winnings... will make a difference and send an important message."

Clark is paired with Entertainment Tonight correspondent Samantha Harris as the hosts, with Nick Lachey, Todd Palin, Laila Ali, Dean Cain, Terry Crews, Picabo Street, Dolvett Quince and Diva Eve Torres signing up as the contestants. Each of the stars will be trained by a former member of the armed forces or law enforcement agency.

Executive produced by Dick Wolf, Mark Burnett and David A. Hurwitz, the show will premiere with a two-hour episode on Monday, August 13 at 8 P.M. on NBC. In another effort to promote the reality series, the cast members made appearance at NBC Universal Press Tour which took place at Beverly Hilton Hotel, California on Tuesday, July 24.
