The Julia Houston of 'Smash' is asking the judge to grant her and Zelman a joint physical and legal custody of their son, Roman.

AceShowbiz - Debra Messing filed paperworks to officially end her marriage to her husband Daniel Zelman. The 43-year-old star cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason of their split and listed February 15, 2010 as the date of the separation.
The "Smash" actress is seeking a joint physical and legal custody of their 8-year-old son, Roman. She has hired high-profile attorney Neal Hersh, whose clients included Camille Grammer, Halle Berry and Melissa Etheridge.
Messing announced separation from Zelman in December 2011, saying that "the decision was mutual." Although they parted ways as husband and wife, the couple who got married in 2000 reportedly continued to live under the same roof in New York.
After the split, Messing was romantically linked to her "Smash" co-star Will Chase who recently separated from his wife, Broadway actress Stephanie Gibson. He has two daughters, Gracie and Daisy, from a previous marriage.
