'GMA in the Afternoon' will air for nine weeks in 'The Revolution' time slot this summer, before Katie Couric's talk show premieres on September 10.

AceShowbiz - "General Hospital" is staying on ABC at least until September 2013. After months of cancellation speculations, the Alphabet has decided to keep its only remaining soap opera, making sure the show will be on air to celebrate its 50th anniversary in April 2013.

"The Revolution", however, isn't that lucky since the network pulled the plug on the lifestyle series, which just premiered on January 16. The talk show, which was ordered as a replacement to canceled soap "One Life to Live", will air its last episode on Friday, July 6.

To replace "Revolution", ABC will expand "Good Morning America" to afternoon. Tentatively titled "GMA in the Afternoon", the spin-off will air alongside "GH" and "The Chew" for nine weeks starting Monday, July 9, until Katie Couric's new syndicated talk show, "Katie", premieres on September 10.

Words are, the afternoon version of the popular talk show will not feature lead anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos in the hosting duty. Co-anchors Josh Elliott and Lara Spencer are rumored to be the most likely candidates for this role.
