Things get even uglier for Mo'Nique whose husband Sidney Hicks is embroiled in a war of words with their landlords. The couple was sued by their landlords for owing $370,000 in unpaid rent but they claimed the house was in poor condition that they refused to pay. Hicks and the landlords have been exchanging nasty emails since.

The new court documents filed in the case revealed e-mails sent to Hicks by one of the landlords named Alice. The landlord tried to hurt Hicks by referring to Mo'Nique's canceled show and writing, "We do understand that your business has been greatly affected by the cancellation of your weekly talk show. However we do not want the publicity and heartache/hardship for either of us." Hicks replied, accusing Alice of having "a poor man's mentality ...you talk tough when you are owed but run when you owe".

Other vicious e-mails sent to Hicks was that about the house's smell. "Maybe the illegal substances you use in our home (i.e. WEED) has weakened your sense of smell," Alice wrote. Hicks responded, "The only illegal greenery was with the illegal immigrant you brought on our premises to cut down the trees ...Maybe the overuse of alcohol has affected you and your husband's judgment."
