One contestant literally took a tumble during the first part of Hollywood Week on "American Idol". Symone Black, who was the last contestant performing in the Wednesday, January 8 episode, fell off the stage after delivering a cover of Otis Redding's "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay".

When Randy Jackson questioned her decision to pick the song, Symone walked too close to the edge before she tipped over, sending other people in the room in frantic mode. The show ended with Steven Tyler gushing that the girl hit her head, and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe calling for a medic.

The dramatic ending aside, the first part of the Hollywood Week also featured Johnny Keyser, Hee Jun Han, Lauren Gray, Erika Van Pelt and Phillip Phillips taking the stage. They made it to the next round along with Adam Brock, Baylie Brown, Hallie Day, Creaighton Fraker, Reed Grimm, Jen Hirsh, Brittany Kerr, Shannon Magrane, Jessica Phillips, Elise Testone and Angie Zeiderman.

Jim Carrey's daughter, Jane Carrey, was also featured in this episode, which marked her last appearance on the show. She was included in the batch of singing hopefuls who were cut in this round, joining the likes of Ramiro Garcia, Wolf Hamlin and Jenni Schick.
