Russell Brand is yet to talk more about his decision to divorce Katy Perry and she has remained mum since his announcement. But sources sniffed out more details about the split, including the reason and when they started having problems.
TMZ heard from its sources that Perry and Brand have agreed on a divorce a few weeks ago but they did not want to be in town when the papers were filed. She even asked Brand to file the documents because she doesn't want to upset her religious parents. As evangelical Christians, Perry's parents believe that divorce is wrong. Thus, Brand flew to England while Perry booked a holiday in Hawaii.
But the problems in their young marriage have been there for a couple of months. They wanted to work it out at first but both sides felt "it just wasn't there." Cores of the problems reportedly are their stubbornness, different lifestyle and long distance. Nevertheless, their split is allegedly civil because there is no hard feeling for each other.
On another news, Brand is set to make up to 20million pounds from his divorce from Perry, according to reports. They will split 50/50 off their earnings because they did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement when they got married in October last year. Under Californian law, he could be entitled to half of her fortune. Perry is reportedly worth 45million pounds while he has a net worth of 11million pounds.
