Shane accuses Hershel of hiding the truth about Sophia from them all this time, while Dale believes that Shane sacrificed Otis before.

AceShowbiz - When "The Walking Dead" returns in winter, the characters are going to be pitted against each other. Picking up where the November 27 episode left off, a new clip from the upcoming outing sees Shane confronting Hershel after finding a heartbreaking answer to Sophia's existence. He accuses the veterinarian of hiding the truth about the little girl from the survivors while they were looking in vain.

In another clip, Lori and Dale discuss about Shane and what happened to Otis when the two went out to get some medical supplies needed to keep Carl alive earlier in the second season. While Lori thinks Shane is not a murderer, Dale believes that Rick's former fellow deputy sheriff sacrificed Otis. "...and sooner or later, he's gonna kill somebody else," the elder man insists.

The midseason finale of "The Walking Dead" posted a strong rating for AMC. The episode titled "Pretty Much Dead Already" pulled in 6.6 million total viewers with 4.5 million of them in the adults 18-49 demographic.

Talking about what will come next on the post-apocalyptic show, executive producer Robert Kirkman recently said, "So there's going to be tremendous amounts of conflict that comes from that and there's going to be a lot of aftermath dealing with the shocking revelation and there's going to be a lot of crazy new stuff thrown into the mix."

"I think we're going to see some new characters very early on, introduced in our first episode back. There's going to be a lot of cool stuff coming up," he went on adding. On whether or not Hershel was lying about Sophia, the showrunner promised, "We'll find out very early on in the return episode coming up this February."

"The Walking Dead" will return with the second half of season 2 on February 12, 2012.
