In this project, the 'Take This Waltz' actress will star as a woman readjusting to the single life after a long live-in relationship.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Silverman's new TV project has been given a greenlight by NBC. The untitled sitcom has been picked up to pilot by the network, which scored the project after winning it in a bidding war last August.

The upcoming sitcom is loosely based on Silverman's life. On the show, the 40-year-old comedienne will play a woman who readjusts to the single life after a decade-long live-in relationship.

Silverman writes the script for the single-camera comedy with Dan Sterling and Jon Schroeder. The threesome were working together for her Comedy Central series "The Sarah Silverman Program", which ran from 2007 to 2010.

The former writer of "Saturday Night Live" will also serve as executive producer alongside Sterling, Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Imagine principal Ron Howard. Schroeder, meanwhile, will be additionally credited as co-exec producer.
