"Saturday Night Live" is building up the anticipation for the new season by announcing that their veteran, Jimmy Fallon, would return. The funnyman will re-enter the variety show on December 17 episode as host.

"I've never forgotten where I came from. That's why I'm so incredibly honored to be hosting the Saturday Night Times program December 17th on HGTV," Fallon joked in a statement. The talks show host would be accompanied by Michael Buble who will release his second holiday album. This would be his second appearance as musical guest.

"SNL" will kick off the 37th season on September 24 with Alec Baldwin as host and Radiohead as musical guest. There were reports that this season will also include "Bridesmaids" star Melissa McCarthy and Lady GaGa. "We're already talking about me hosting 'SNL' next year," the Mother Monster said back in May.
