"Contagion" is trying to depict the fear for the end of the world caused by a worldwide pandemic. The first trailer for the upcoming film from Steven Soderbergh has been unleashed via Apple, showing how things will be very intense once people get infected by a lethal airborne virus that kills within days.
As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. Street and public places are now empty, while at the same time ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.
Matt Damon takes the lead role as a husband whose wife, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, is among the first victim of the deadly virus. Joining the star-studded cast ensemble are Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and Laurence Fishburne among others. The action thriller will open wide in U.S. theaters on September 9.
