Anna Sophia Berglund's mother has spoken out about the Playboy Playmate's relationship with Hugh Hefner. Around a week after he was ditched by ex-fiancee Crystal Harris, Hef sparked speculation that he has found a new girlfriend in Anna Sophia as he called her his "best girl". Lena Griffin, however, told TMZ, "The rumors that they are dating were just for publicity."
Lena further insisted that 25-year-old Anna Sophia has never been Hef's girlfriend. "They met at a party a few years back, but they are JUST FRIENDS," she stressed. "That's what [Hef] means when he says Anna is his 'best girl' " She went on to say, "It makes me feel so much better to know there is not any hanky-panky going on."
Hef fueled reports of him dating Miss January 2011 with his June 23 tweet that read, "With Crystal gone, Anna is my best girl, but she's also Crystal's good friend. Anna really is one in a million." His ex-fiancee Crystal, however, was quick to deny there is anything romantic going on between the two. "Nope! Shes just over there regulating making sure Hef ends up w a good girl :)," she tweeted in response to a follower's question.
