"Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" may have inspired an upcoming episode of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent". While no one has confirmed that it is a rip-off of the troubled Broadway production, the story that focuses on "a high-flying, fast-crashing show" called "Icarus" clearly indicates it.
In the episode, the detectives will begin investigating a botched stunt that leads to one of the actor's death, TVLine reports. The suspects include a "high-strung and larger-than-life" director, who is possibly modeled after the stage musical's one-time director Julie Taymor.
Also, the upcoming show will feature a bisexual rock-star composer named Arno who is cheating on the missus with a colleague. In "Turn Off the Dark", U2's frontman Bono teams up with The Edge to provide the music.
The tenth and final season of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" will premiere Sunday, May 1 at 9/8c on USA Network. Original cast members Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe will return as Detectives Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames respectively.
